Back to Langedrag.

Sat Sep 5, 2009, 3:00 PM
Man, I’m so bored now I’m even making a journal here, which I obviously never do. I do have a lot of things to do, but I can’t connect my tablet to my new laptop, because it’s a school laptop so it won’t allow any downloads. And all my traditional art supplies are down at my mom’s house.

Well, hope you won’t mind, but I kind of wanted to tell someone of my last weekend. Well, if I remember correctly it was awesome. Me, my mom, my mom’s cousin and our dog Ludo went to a cabin in the mountains, the most beautiful place you could imagine! Mountains, wide bleak plains, creeks, arctic birches and heath, I really wish I lived there. In the morning I would go photographing, all alone in the wilderness, it was really something.
And Ludo spotted a mouse, so he went hunting on it for three hours straight, all you could see was his white-tipped tail sticking up of the tall grass! It was kind of funny watching him, he hunted for that mouse our entire stay there. Anyway, around noon, we all went on a looong walk where I of course took a lot of photos. And once in a while we rested and ate cookies that supposedly went out of date in 2007. Hey, I still haven’t died!

But the greatest part of the weekend, was or trip to Langedrag. I’ve been there three times now, and it never ceases to amaze me! First we watched the unsocialized pack of ten wolves, and then the four lynxes. Thereafter, we saw one of the two people who is part of the socialized wolf pack interact with the three wolves, Ask, Irgas and Varg. They’ve sure grown! It’s really amazing to watch her interact with them, and you learn a hell of a lot to, because she tells of every little sign she gives out and what signs they give out, and behavioral and all that. I really enjoy learning more about wolves, they’re such complicated and interesting creatures! But by now, I sure think someone must have realized my fascination with wolves.

Well, anyway. Then we went to a pen where two reindeer and some arctic foxes live. Childeren are allowed to go in there and feed the reindeer moss and the foxes meat. At least I think I count as a child... Heh. Arctic foxes are so freaking cute, it’s a damn shame they’re endangered, all because of the lack of wild wolves, bears and wolverines. Well anyway, there are two grown arctic foxes, and their pups are to be set out in the wild to save the species.

Well, if Langedrag was the best the best part of the trip, then the best part of Langedrag was the end of the day, when I got to walk into the pen of the unsocialized wolves. Ten, wild wolves surrounding us on all sides! Now that was really something. I think we sat there for almost an hour, in the middle of their territory! At some points, one of the wolves was under two metres away from me, and that’s a wild wolf I'm talking about, not the trained ones you can pet.
And if anyone's wondering, Langedrag is a very good place for the animals, they are healthy and have big areas to roam. It's also the biggest and most important wolf park in... Europe, I think. At least the northern part. I think.

Well, I really loved being there, and I think I got some good photos! Not good in the artistical sense, but very good for reference. I will upload some of them soon, but then I'd have to get on my old laptop. Oh, and I’ll also post some on this random stockaccount I made a while ago, [link] ...Yeah.

Well, I’m going to miss the cabin, and Langedrag… and the board game Sequence.

If you really bothered to read all that, you deserve a hug. Sadly all I can give is a virtual one. But all I'm really interested in to know, is how all you're doing?

Take care!

Sixteen summers

Sat Jun 6, 2009, 3:06 PM
First of I really want to thank all the watches, favorites and kind comments I've gotten lately. It's highly appreciated! And I’m so sorry I‘m late with trades! I've certainly not forgotten about them.

Anyway. Sitting up here in the middle of the night, I came to realize that I've officially been sixteen years old for an hour now. That's weird.

It seems I've finally come past my year long art block, so at least that’s one achievement for the year. I hate to admit it, but for the first time since I first got here, I actually like my drawings, despite how many flaws I see. Now as my story is taking shape, I can draw more of what I truly want to draw, things I can actually relate to, and not some silly composition my brain made up without putting my heart into it.
As soon as I'm finished with my last exam, I'll get loads of time to write and draw. I’m planning on finishing a few chapters, some character sheets, concepts as well as some complete pictures this summer. And oh, I'll actually be active here.
I know I will wander off on my 'spontaneous' hiatuses again, because that's just how I am. I'm quite a deep-thinker, so I can spend days just thinking, completely absent from what’s actually going on. Basically I find my own mind far more amusing than the real world. I know I should try to change that, but I don't want to and therefore it's not likely to happen.
But, you couldn’t care less whether I’m here or not, could you? xD

I hope you’re all fine, take care!

She was 15 years old. She's been one of my best friends my whole life. I've known no life without her, I can't imagine it. She's gone. We had to put her down... I'm not looking foreward to the time I realize that.

She was beautiful: [link]

When we left the vet - it was just an hour ago - my mother said to our cat that she had been a star in her life. Well, she had been a sun in mine.

I know I'll remember her by the purple krokus growing in the early spring. One just bloomed today. :)
